1. You have to market with multimedia 2. You have to apply synergy and leverage to what you do (e.g., $1 has to do $10 worth of work) 3. You have to sell customers (you are not selling product or services. You have to create an affinity group -- you have to have a customer hook, a targeted audience, e.g., AARP, Fox Kids Club, QVC Buyers Club,etc.) 5. You have to have funnel vision (look broad out; not through a microscope) 6. You have to test great ideas. You have to crawl, wolk, run. Make all the mistakes in the crawl stage. 7. You must be a contrarian (e.g., go opposite of the world) 8. You must never, ever quit (and never leave good enough alone) 9. You must never bullshit anybody (and by the same token, make someone stop if you don't understand them) 10. You must realize marketing is making it.
