Previous Meetings NORTH HAVEN INFORMATION CENTER CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS OF THE NORTH HAVEN CIVIC ASSOCIATION North Haven Civic Association Home Page The October 7, 2006 meeting went very well with a good turn out for our start up meeting. There was a lively discussion with several suggestions made by our residents for future civic association action. One main issue of interest and concern voiced at the meeting was about helicopter and small plane flight patterns over North Haven. Richard Demato has done some research on this subject and a summary of the information that he's gathered will be sent out in a letter to members. There has also been much interest expressed in starting up various organized groups for member participation. The suggested groups to be formed: bird watching, gardening, walking, tennis, fishing, kayaking, bridge and poker and quilting are under consideration.
Tom Liao will be leading the bird watching group.
Harriet Demato has volunteered to organize the walking group. (Call her 917-499-0825 or mail her at the NHCA address.)
Judith Cash, a very experienced quilter, will lead the quilting group. Email her at jcashx2@aol.com Please specify your day and time preference and your level of proficiency. All levels are welcome. Anyone who would like to volunteer to head up the other groups currently lacking leaders (gardening, tennis, fishing, kayaking, bridge and poker) please email us at northhavenca@yahoo.com
A very good group showed up for the Bird Watching Meeting of 11-18-06. Hugh McGuiness Phd, an expert birder, gave a very stimulating talk and field tour. Our thanks to him and to NHCA member Tom Liao for arranging this event.
January News The NHCA officers and directors will be meeting in January to set a 2007 agenda. Details will be forthcoming.
The NHCA made a year end donation to the North Haven Village Improvment Society in order to aid in their community work.
